Attraction closes on 1st day
Galveston's newest attraction has closed after less than one day of operation. "Swim With The Gators", a trendy back-to-nature attraction on the Seawall was only open for 15 minutes on April 30, when a terrible tragedy occurred. One of the alligators, a 14 ft. Cayman named "Insatiable", accidentally swallowed a 4 ft. tall Houston girl. The girl's family watched, horrified, as their 9 year-old daughter vanished into the reptile. "He's real gentle, so we know it was just an accident" spokesman Lars Pantzonfyr told Gator Press. He said the attraction will reopen in a few days. The attraction is owned by Natural Attractions of North America. Inc. (NANA). The company started in the early 1980s with "Swim With The Dolphins" in Miami, Fla. They now operate dozens of similar attractions, including: Boogie With The Bears (Butte Montana); Slither With The Snakes (Tucson); Bundle up With The Bugs (Boston); Mingle With The Mice (Minneapolis); Rassle With The Rats (New York); Wallow With The Hogs (Little Rock); and Sex With The Octopus, a traveling attraction featuring celebrities like Bill Clinton, Jimmy Swaggart, Orrin Hatch, and Dennis Janner. In honor of the deceased girl, NANA will give free tickets to 100 schoolchildren (with paying adult).
