Bartender Accidentally Eats "Shrooms"
(PASADENA) - A bartender at a local club who accidentally ingested psychedelic mushrooms was reportedly recovering at Waynos Jan. 31. Laura Maynor, 25, told reporters she found the "magic mushrooms" growing in a field on Jan. 27th, and thought they were edible. That night, she fried a batch in a deep-fryer, and shared a plate with a friend, Jan Parmwood. Soon after eating the appetizer, the two women realized something was wrong. "I started feeling kind of funny" Maynor said, "so I decided to take off all of my clothes and dance on the roof of my trailer. Jan tried to talk me down, and then she just flew up there too". Motorists on Spencer Highway were surprised to see the two naked women on top of the trailer, and soon a crowd had gathered. Taxi driver Otis Garmandez was one of the first to stop. "I knew something was odd" Garmondez said, "So I decided to keep an eye on things, and make a video". Parmwood claims the girls had no idea the mushrooms were the variety that induces feelings of euphoria. "Oh heavens no, we never expected THAT to happen, or we would have bought more beer and rented The Wall" she said. After about 30 minutes, a local man bravely climbed onto the trailer and rescued the two girls, and then took them to a motel room to recuperate. He revived them with orange juice. Neither girl remembers what happened during the next few hours, but the man has promised them copies of photos he took while they were in the room. "Well, I won't ever do THAT again this week" Maynor said, "It was very intense, I was seeing all kinds of far-out colors and groovy little animals flying around inside my head. It was like a mini-vacation". This is the 27th case of mushroom intoxication this year in Pasadena, according to police spokesman Girard Daggler.
