Erection To Commemorate Large Bust

The largest bust in Texas will be memorialized next year with the erection of a statue in Houston. The famous K-Mart Raid, in which nearly 300 people were arrested this past September, was the largest mass-arrest in Texas history. This historic event will be remembered with a commissioned work by a famous forensic sculptor, Ginan Tonnik of New Caney.
The exact location of the statue is yet to be decided, but the cost will be paid by the non-profit Harris County Jail Alumni Association, with a matching grant from the Kingswood Junior Nazis.
Police officials were pleased with the announcement. "We don't often get recognized by the community in any lasting way" said Captain Sesha Rasment, "A tremendous job was done by everyone from arresting officers to booking personnel. It establishes Houston as a place with mass arrest capabilities not often seen in this country".

Some have alleged that police may have acted improperly in the arrests. The department investigated itself and found it had done nothing wrong.
