Overflowing Toilets Blamed On Massive Grid Failure

Over 1 million Texas commodes stopped flushing at evening rush-hour on September 3, as a result of what Governor Perry calls a massive grid failure.
According to officials, a sewer pump located in Bexar County was damaged by thunder during a storm, and caused a chain-reaction which shut down toilets all across the state. Authorities said there is no way the problem could have been caused by terrorists.
"I have long said we need a new sewer grid" Gov. Perry told a group of reporters in Austin. "This is not a problem we can continue to just sit on. "
The shutdown affected commodes in over 40 counties, including the entire metropolitan Houston area. The affected toilets were out of service for as long as 24 hours. Officials say that recent increases in gas prices may be partly due to the massive failure.
