POLICE INVESTIGATE DRAWINGS

Sherriff's investigators in Galveston County believe the scene below is proof that a so-called "serial" chalk-artist is at large. Chalk outlines of human forms have been found in numerous locations all over the county. Forensics experts have determined the weapon used to be white pool-table chalk. Sheriff Gean Leonard released an advisory to all deputies April 1st, seeking assistance from the public. Deputy L.C. Dogg told Nightmoves "We want to try to identify the victims and the perpetrator. There is nothing intrinsically illegal about the outlines, but they are suspicious. Tracings of this type are often seen at crime scenes, particularly homicides. It is our policy to always investigate these type of illustrations".
Citizens are urged to report any chalk outlines, and not to attempt to erase them. Also, detectives are investigating the fact that black fingerprint dust has been later found at the scene of a spate of local burglaries. Authorities believe the dust may mean the crimes are linked.
