Santa Claus May Boycott Webster This Christmas Eve
Citing past difficulties with the city's police department, Santa Claus has announced that Webster may be omitted from this year's giant Toy Run on the night of Dec 24-25. Although there have been many cities omitted in past years, this would be only the second time a Houston area community was "off the list". The first time occurred in 1983, in Seabrook. That particular year, everyone in town had been naughty, and there was no reason for Santa to deliver. The Webster situation arose regarding numerous tickets and citations Santa received last Christmas, which he still refuses to pay. Webster Police Commandant Heinrich Schnitzfluger confirmed that Santa has warrants outstanding for failure to appear on charges of: Illegal Parking, No Inspection; No Tag; No Valid License; Failure To Carry Life Insurance; Removing an Upholstery Tag; Keeping An Unregistered Pet (9 counts); and Suspicion Of Loitering To Commit Jaywalking. Claus, upon learning of the warrants in his North Pole lair, merely laughed, his ample belly rippling with a hearty "Ho ho ho! Let them come up here and arrest me!" Kids in Webster who have not been naughty would receive cards via mail containing gift certificates in the event the disagreement can not be worked out.
There was a brief period of confusion after the announcement when reporters thought that the Webster being boycotted was the little black kid played by actor Emmanuel Lewis. Lewis, co-incidentally, is also off this year's list because he has been very naughty, and is believed to have reached adulthood.
