Siblings To Square Off In Court
Isabell Worthington claims she was just 15 years old when she invented "hand quotes". Her younger brother, H. Toledo Worthington, says she got the idea from him, and he would like some of the credit. This month the two will square off in a Galveston courtroom. H. Toledo is represented by former tobacco case lawyer Sirius Ruggbern. Toledo has been living on the streets recently, and Ruggbern is representing him for a percentage. A magistrate previously ruled that Toledo may not use or license others to use hand quotes until the higher court rules. Isabell is confident she will prevail. A judge last year ruled that she could not claim to be the inventor of "talk to the hand", another symbol she claims to have invented. In that case, the judge declared that the "talk to the hand" gesture had been invented by "Das Munster", a transgendered midget mud wrestler from France.
